#100DaysOfCode
Learning to code, no matter what path you are taking in your career, can be a useful and valuable skill that can be applicable across different areas of your life and your career. There are benefits to learning how to code that are not just for becoming an engineer or a developer.

So what is coding? Simply put, coding is the process of writing instructions for what a computer does and how it does it. You are writing in a programming language that a computer can understand to perform specific functions. Depending on what you want to develop, there are many different types of programming languages that each have their own set of rules.
Coding can be used to build websites, software, apps, video games and much more!

You can join the 100 days of Code challenge to start learning how to code or to develop your already existing coding skills!

2 Main Rules
-
You have to code for at least 45 minutes to 1 hour every day for the next 100 days.
-
Everyday for 100 days, you must share at least a one line progress update on the #100DaysOfCode slack channel on what you learnt or worked on that day and what you are planning to learn or work on the following day.
Next Steps To Get Started
-
If you have not joined the Break Into Tech Slack Community - you can do so using the link below: Join Break into Tech Slack Community
-
Once you are in the Slack Workspace join the #100DaysOfCode, if you are not familiar with how to do this, you can check out this document to help you.
-
If you are just starting out in your coding journey, think about what programming language you would like to learn. You can use the following resources to help you out: What Programming Language Should I Learn? & Infographic (which programming language to learn). You can then use this guide which contains a list of resources that you can use to learn how to code over the course of the 100 days.
-
If you have already started your coding journey, before the start of the challenge take the time to think about the things you would like to achieve by the beginning of April 2023, think of goals you would like to achieve, what would you like to have learned by then? What skills would you have liked to develop? What course would you like to complete? What experience would you have liked to gain? What project would you like to have completed? Write these all out as a plan and see how you can break that down into smaller pieces and plan backwards. This will help give you an idea of the types of things you can work on over the course of the 100 days. You can also refer to this guide for resources.
